A Variety of Roles for Every Passion
Our volunteer opportunities span across several departments, offering something for everyone:
- Welfare: Support initiatives that improve parrot care and rehabilitation. To join the Welfare team, you will need to either start from being a Welfare Assistant or Interviewer, or have proven aptitude and commitment through other volunteer roles in PSS.
- Education: Help build up knowledge, raise awareness, and educate the public on responsible parrot ownership.
- Volunteer Management: Work with us to recruit, train, and engage our team of dedicated volunteers.
- Events: Assist with planning and running impactful events to promote parrot welfare.
- Public Relations: Use your communication skills to spread the word about our mission and efforts.

Important Note: Not All Roles Involve Parrot Handling
The majority of our roles do not require handling parrots directly. If working hands-on with parrots is your passion, consider applying as a Fosterer, where you’ll provide temporary care and rehabilitation to parrots in need, transitioning them to their forever homes.
What We’re Looking For
- Specific Skill Sets: From event planning and public relations to administrative skills and content creation, we value expertise that strengthens our organisation.
- Commitment: Depending on the role, we ask for a certain number of hours per week, per month, or on an ad hoc basis. Each role’s description will outline the estimated time commitment.
